The s-foil activation system works very well and is easy to operate. The wings move from open to closed and back again with little effort.

"A classic addition to any collection of rebel alliance militia. I was stunned when I got this set as I had begged my parents for it. It has rare minifigs including the Wedge antillies mini figure with the commonly seen Rebel face that's so yesterday. I also don't lke the fact that Han dosen't have a hood. Anyway, it's a great set. The gearbox in the back is so complex. I like how it has s foils and changeable pilot signs.It comes with working landing gear and a cargo bay too. A good buy. A little pricy but worth it. Enjoy this awsome collectable!"

"One of the most iconic ships of the Original Star Wars Trilogy. From Luke's Death Star trench run in the original movie, to his crash landing in the swamps of Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back, the X-Wing is easily recognized by die-hard and casual Star Wars fans alike.
This Lego model perfectly depicts the essence of this ship. The ship is very solid, but easy to "fly" around. the wings opening and closing is very nicely done.
This ship includes nice minifigures. Of course we have Pilot Luke and his trusty co-pilot Artoo. We also get a new Wedge Antilles Pilot (really it's just the same Rebel Pilot body with a new helmet), Chewbacca, and Han and Leia in Hoth clothes.
This set was first released in 2006, so who knows how much longer it will be produced. All the focus seems to be on the Clone Wars now."
