Nintendo 3DS Console
If 2010 was the year of 3D on your home TV, then 2011 is when the full 3D experience comes to your gaming world and the first company to break cover into the wonderful three dimensional world is of course Nintendo with the new Nintendo 3DS console.
We all know that Nintendo is the master of innovative design and unique playability and with the Nintendo 3DS they have pushed back the benchmark even further, now the game comes out to meet you and you get to experience an immersion like never before in your own home and you don't even have to wear those silly 3D glasses, that's right the 3DS is truly a cutting-edge piece of hardware.
So how has Nintendo managed to give us real 3D images without the need to wear 3D glasses? Well it's all down to Nintendo's stereoscopic 3D display on the upper screen which gives objects within the 3D game your playing a feeling of space and depth that extends far into the back of the screen.
This really is much more than a gimick, for the first time ever with a video game it will becomes easier to see the position of characters and obstacles in the world and thus creating a much more realistic gameplay experience for the gamer.
If you have already built-up a library of DSI games, don't worry as the 3DS is backwards compatible, the Nintendo 3DS has a nifty little 3D slidder which allows you to control the 3D effect. You can also use the control to totally turn off the 3D of any 3D game and it will play perfectly in standard 2D.
Another thing you will notice about the new Nintendo 3DS is just how stunning the graphics look on this portable games console, thanks to it;s widescreen display on the top screen that shows a whopping 800x240 pixel resolution, allocating 400 pixels for each eye to create the 3D effect. The bottom LCD touch screen operates at a resolution of 320x240—with both screens capable of displaying a brilliant 16.77 million colors.
