first off,it is one of the coolest sets ever.i think a construction site is a standerdtoy for most kids of all ages.i'm 13 right now and this my consruction site.
i used to have the HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION set when i was younger and i thought tha was the bomb,but thats nothing compared to this."
"This reminds me of the old Main Street in some way mixed in with the very old Public Works set and the huge crane set from a few years ago. But all of this is good news because it contains three vehicles, a shop/office and the elevator. The crane in this set is probably the perfect size; not too big and not too small. I consider it better designed than the really big one and better thought out. For instance, the support beams can be disassembled and placed in the rear. Little details like that keep me happy. Also, the crane feels very sturdy; no looseness and it's not that heavy.
The delivery truck part is extremely versatile. It seems like a plain flatbed, but the cool thing is that you can place the digger, the building parts and even the elevator on the back! The little cargo sticker along with the green, white and gray colors help continue the cargo motif started from the previous year's line up.
The steam shovel is a nice addition as well. The tiny treads and top seem like new pieces for this year. The elevator too is a nicely detailed piece that you can use for your men to up and down between floors as the crane and crew assemble the office/shop.
Finally, you have something that should be mass produced in the form of an office/shop. It's fairly plain and bare inside. The only details for this piece are the sticker for the shop and the synthetic looking plants hanging from the windows. However, I like the idea of a generic office/shop building, especially one as modular as this one. It's a shame that you have to purchase this set if you just want the pieces to the office/shop because you could easily create a huge block for your city.
I suppose my only real complaint is again, the price. However, considering what you get, it isn't that bad of a deal. But I do wish that you could buy the office/shop separately because it's far too useful of a set piece to be included in just one really expensive set."
