The Lego 8639 is part of the new range of cars 2 theme sets that Lego are releasing in 2011 along with a 13 other different sets, this goes someway to beating last years successful Lego Toy Story 3 sets which again were based on the popular Disney Pixar animated adventures.

Well you get approx 743 lego pieces with this exciting set which is called Lego 8639 unlike most lego sets, you don't actually get minifigures as such, but you do get 7 different characters which makes this set a real stand out for collectors.

Well to start with you get Big Bentley Tower itself, which is basically Big Ben. There are many great features on the tower including secret entrances and control panels.

First of all we will start off with our Kids Top Toys review:

The Lego Cars 2 Big Bentley Bust Out Review - Lego 8639

This is one of the big Cars 2 Lego sets for Christmas 2011 and a set that really caught my attention at the Toy Fair.
Starting off with the basics of this set you get approximately 743 Lego pieces and 7 cars characters and build and play range for children no younger than seven years old.

So let's take a look at the new cars 2 lego set entitled Big Bentley Bust Out. This is one of those Lego sets the really jumps out at you from just seeing the imagery on the front of the box, coupled with the fact that you also get seven cars characters included.
And so when you first open this Lego set you will be confronted with five individual bags that hold the Lego pieces, one sticker sheet and two instruction manuals. Lego have done a great job with the instruction manuals and I found that this set was really easy to put together.
Now let's take a look at the characters that are included in Lego 8639 starting off with lightning McQueen, straightaway you notice the detailing on lightning McQueen, something to note is that the detailing are not stickers, his number and other imagery is actually on the Lego bricks which is rather cool.
Next we come to agent Mater who comes with a great extra features like a pair of rockets attached to the side and a bomb attached to the engine section. I love agent mater and think that this character has been reproduced fantastically well by Lego and is a great addition to this set.

Moving on we have Finn McMissile who I have to say was rather a disappointment compared to the other characters included in the actual look of the car is really cool but it's a shame that Lego left out some of the additional features that we know that agent Finn McMissile is capable of using.
Next we come to agent shiftwell who again is fairly basic but looks great, we also have the additional feature that you can attach a pair of wings to the base the car so that she can fly. Now we come to the baddies and the main villain of the cost to movie Prof Z, this is cool little Doody car and has a great feature in that a magnifying glass is used as a monocle, he also has a robotic arm on one side. And finally we come to the Queen, yes that's right the Queen of England is depicted as the car and she comes with a crown which is attached to the roof and last but not least is Miles Axlerod who is an electric car.

Now let's take a look at the actual set itself, and starting off you get quite a good looking street lamp post which features two British flags hanging on either side which is cool little touch. Now let’s take a look at Big Bentley itself, this build is laden with great features such as a winch which can carry the cars to the top of the tower before using the slammer function switch that catapults the cars through the clock face and off into freedom.
I love this set, it has tons of amazing features, some fantastic characters and just lots and lots of fun, it's very easy to put together although some smaller children or those not used to building Lego sets might find the setting up of a winch slightly fiddly but other than that this set is very child friendly in more ways than one. If you're a cars 2 fan then this set is a must buy!
