Board games - Golden Balls
Golden Balls board game - about the game
Golden Balls begins with one hundred ‘golden balls’ in the Golden Bank, all containing cash amounts varying from £10 to a staggering £75,000.
Twelve balls are randomly selected and deposited in to the ball machine, where four dreaded ‘killer balls’ are added to the mix.
These evil ‘killer balls’ can turn a fortune into pennies in the blink of an eye.
Each player then receives four golden balls and immediately reveals two for all to see.
Keeping the contents of their other two balls a secret from their opponents, the players now do whatever they can - be it lying, cheating or playing it straight - to convince each other that they are holding the Golden Balls containing the highest amounts and not the killer balls.
The players are given the chance to vote off one of their opponents, so the aim of the game is to make sure you don’t get voted off, while trying to find the player who you think has the worst four balls.
The player who receives the most votes leaves Golden Balls and their balls are binned and out of the game. But will the right player be eliminated?
The remaining three players go through the same process a second time; on this occasion with 5 balls each – all the remaining balls from the earlier round plus two new cash amounts and an extra one of those nasty ‘killer balls’.
Again, one player will be voted off. It’s crucial to keep in the cash and kick out the killers.
The two players who have played the most cunning game must then work together and decide which of the remaining balls to ‘Bin or Win’ to determine the prize fund up for grabs.
As the drama escalates, they face off in the tense final game and decide between them what happens to the cash - will they 'Split or Steal'? If both parties work together and split the cash, they will go home with an equal share.
If one player decides to steal and the other one splits, the stealer will walk away with the entire jackpot, leaving the other contestant with nothing.
However, if both parties decided to steal, they will both leave penniless.
Golden Balls Board Game Review
What other's have said
My Golden Balls board game arrived in the post this morning and due to me loving the daytime tv show, i was so excited and so i opened it straight away. I had to have a game straight away and it is so fun! Its dead realistic, with the moving ball machine (requires 3 AAA batteries, not included) and the little golden balls with cash amounts. The money cards inside the balls are reversible so every game different amounts can be used. If you love the program then you should buy this as it is really fun.
The only downside is that because its not for real money you arent bothered at the end whether the other person splits or steals but im sure you can think of fun prizes.
I would highly recommend you ignore the other review about this game, and if you are a fan of the show then buy it. If you dnt like the show then dnt buy it. Simple as that!!
Overall its a great game and one of the best board games i've played in a while.
